Off to college with her.. and away with her boyfriend. She went to a stupid meeting of fake witches.. and saw.. HER. Tara Maclay, she came from an abusive household who told her that her powers were an illness that would fade away with time. Willow started talking with her, making a friendship, doing some spells, Who cares? Now there's two witches.. Willow will get a new boyfriend.. WRONG. One night, the ultimate Demons were in town, and they chased poor Tara around the campus, no one would save her, help her, or give her any sort of salvation. Until.. she knocked on Willow Rosenberg's door. With Willow's help she managed to run away. When they joined hands, the radiating light shined, and they were safe. Soon.. they were doing nothing but spending time together. Most viewers think "Oh, new best friend for Willow" Then it hit everybody like a ton of bricks.. this.. IS SO MUCH MORE. This little girl you watched grow up is in love again.. with another girl. And it's more than sexy nonsense like YAOI, YURI etc, it's not just a political statement like other movies.
Fans didnt turn it off, they didnt bitch the creators out, they did not get angry or beg for her to turn straight, they saw the love for what it was PURE, BEAUTIFUL, BLINDING LOVE. Her friends didnt think of her any differently, and Tara was accepted into the family without question or hesitation. Willow and Tara were the only ones in the Buffyverse who were totally happy and in love. [link]

Just when it was at its highest point, just when we were screaming for the happily ever after, just when we felt it was safe, *BAM* the bullet aimed at Buffy crashes through the window, and a splatter of blood hits Willow's shirt as she hugs her lover. Tara asks quietly "Your shirt?" and falls over, gone from this earth.
The pain Willow went through cant be described in words i can type. She used the blackest of arts to bring her back.. but it all failed. Tara was gone. Willow's entire life had gone.. all her happiness in this world had just fallen around her. She went on a rampage, killed a man, and nearly destroyed the universe with her insane power. Until Xander came to her and calmed her back.. letting her know, that it's possible to move on with life, even when your true love is truly gone. [link]
Willow did move on, she found a little peace in her life even without Tara. Showing how strong she truly is. Willow soon got a message from the afterlife.. whether it was true or not is debatable. [link]
But, the point of this whole story is... THIS IS JUST AS BEAUTIFUL AS A STRAIGHT COUPLE. There is nothing that makes Buffy and Angel better than Willow and Tara. DONT CONCIDER YOURSELF BETTER BECAUSE YOU ARE STRAIGHT. We gays, we lesbians, bi's, trans, WHATEVER. Our chances of finding our soulmates are JUST AS GOOD AS YOURS. And no matter how many rights you strip away from us.. OUR LOVE DESERVES EVERYTHING YOURS GETS AND WE WILL FIGHT UNTIL WE GET THEM. Even if it doesnt affect you pesonally. FIGHT FOR GAY RIGHTS. Even if you dont care, FIGHT. Things like Prop 8.. they are going to go away! Our generation is COMING, we will have the power to change these things SOON. When you are faced with the choice to strip a beautiful love of things like legal rights, recognition, and such or to let it blossom just as much as you would want YOUR love to blossom... CHOOSE THE SECOND OPTION.
Gay love, straight love, it's all the same. It's LOVE. And no one deserves to have love taken away from them, and everyone's love deserves to be treated equally! No one's is better, no one's is the "true" love... PLEASE comment on this journal to tell me.. when the time comes.. will you choose EQUAL LOVE.. or the hypocritical, hateful, ONE SIDED LOVE.
